Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Watching the Smiles at Red Rocks Ampetheater

--by lynkleven, posted Jul 9, 2015
I recently read a story here about a father and daughter who shared free water and soda at a recent community event accompanied by SMILE cards.

It inspired me to grab a case of water to give away the last time my daughter Birdie and I went out to exercise at the amazing Red Rocks Amphitheater near Golden Colorado. We set up a board that said "Free. Please enjoy one. Remember, every day may not be good..BUT there is GOOD in EVERY day!" which is my daughter's mantra.

Some people were hesitant, but by the end of our workout, there were only three bottles left and we handed them out to some thirsty passersby. We had taped the smile card to the front and it was fun to glance over to where we had put the water bottles and see people read it! I'm not sure what they expected, but I hope a few pass on the favor.

Even though it's rough lugging a case of water up many many flights of stairs, it was worth the trip!! We will be doing that again on our next trip to Red Rocks! Birdie and me, Golden CO
