Tomato Soup to Chase Away the Flu

--by guin, posted Jun 26, 2008

My friend fell sick with the flu yesterday, so I sent him some tomato soup and stuff.  We're all a bunch of students living away from home so I could make out how touched he was by the gesture.

He told me it was extremely sweet of me and he felt like he had a mom away from home now.  :)

May God bless you all

A big smile spread across my face reading your story....happy, comforting memories of my Mom and the TLC she provided us when we were sick.

We got served on a tray in bed, either read to or giving some good reading material. Seveal pillows plumped behind our head...POPSICLES for cool and delight us, homemade chicken soup, cheery jello, chocolate pudding....yum and of course Mom to fuss over us! (Back then everyone had only one TV and that was in the Living or Family room only) but we did have a transistor radio to listen to tunes.

I was 5 1/2 hrs from home when I went to college and used to just sleep all day....how great of you to big your buddy warm, soothng soup! You are his family away from home and fussed over him....I am sure even if this did not help physically, it helped emotionally.

Kudo's, Brighteyes ;)

I know when I am sick, I want to be treated special the way my MOM treated me when I lived at home. Good for you for caring. :) ~Aurelia :) Just tickled to death to hear from you.
