A Stranger In My Car
While out running errands today I passed a woman walking along a busy highway. I continued on my way, but I couldn't help thinking about that woman.
After completing some errands I headed back down the busy highway and saw her still walking along. I thought, 'No. I can't invite a stranger in my car. There is no way I would feel comfortable doing something like that.'
Well, as soon as I was close to her I pulled off the highway and asked her if she wanted a ride!
She said she was on her way to WalMart. Since I was also going there I said I would be happy to take her. I was not afraid and she thanked me many times. Before we went our separate ways I gave her a "Smile" card and she said I was a very kind woman and she would always remember me.
I don't think I will invite strangers into my car again but this time I think it was okay. It felt good to help someone else out.
