Listening And Learning With The Mailman

I ran into lots of people today and focused on listening with my undivided attention. One "listening" that I loved was with our mailman.

We had never spoken before, but today I learned about what it's like to switch from a car with a typical American left hand drive to a mail truck with a right hand drive. According to him, parallel parking is much easier when the steering wheel is on the right.

How fun it is to consider things that have never crossed my mind before. How fun it is to connect with strangers.

So Grateful!

Day 21 - Gratitude Journal - the three things I am most grateful for right now - a warm robe, caffeine, and my cozy pets.

The three things I am most grateful for regarding this 21 day challenge - I loved applying mindfulness to kindness and expanding my repertoire of kind acts, I loved learning that most of my challenges with the way things are come from my own resistance and taking steps to release some of the resistance, I loved feeding people - literally and spiritually.

Thank you KindSpring!

A Gift For Our Local Firemen

I was in another town, and saw some firemen standing outside of their building, praying in memory of their New York brothers who died in 9/11.

I returned to my community, purchased some coffee and cookies for our local firemen and wrote a note thanking them for their service. I gave the food to two firemen who were walking into their building.

At first, they looked concerned when I approached them, and then their faces lit up with big smiles when they saw I was bearing gifts and gratitude.
