A Lady And An Orchid

--by RoseMarie, posted Jun 5, 2017

It was my ex husband's mother's birthday today, she was 88 years of age. I called to see her and brought her a beautiful orchid which she loved. I also sent her a birthday card, they don't seem to make birthday cards from ex daughter's in law. Lol

I wrote "To a very special lady on your birthday. You have always been like a mother to me. Love Rose-Marie x"

She loved the card. I arrived at 11.30 am and stayed until about 4.30 pm,  I didn't want her to be on her own on this special day. I also offered to take her to the nursing home to see grandad but she'd just visited the night before and was happy not to go. As I was leaving my daughter Lauren and her boyfriend Frankie arrived. Lauren got me to stay for Bucks Fizz (a British pop band's music album) and birthday cake.

Despite getting older and being slower on her feet she can sure talk! There were a lot of chores in my house which really could have done with my attention today but people are more important than tidy houses.

Oh and I left with a big pot of stew. What a lady. Honored to know her and love her.
