Helping My Brother Not To Stumble

--by flowerpower, posted Apr 24, 2012

I told my brother, who has been struggling with illness that I would support him as long as he helps himself, and ever since, things have been looking up for the better. I must have awoken something in him I guess because since that day, he has really been taking care of himself: eating right, maintaining personal hygiene and having a positive outlook for himself. (I think a positive outlook on life helps to when working through all obstacles.)

While my parents go to work, I stay and take care of my brother.  I’m already used to it now since my parents and I have been taking care of him for 5 years since he was diagnosed. I want to help him as much as I can so that our parents can take it easy. They rely on me to help even though I’m the little sister (I feel so honoured).

This morning I went to his apartment to give him his breakfast and some incredible news!  My brother will able to get a chair scooter to help him get around for only 100 dollars!  I was so happy for all of us. A good friend of my parents knew a good friend who was selling a used scooter. Generally it would cost about 3000 dollars but for us, he is selling it for 100!  He knew our situation and we are so truly grateful for this miracle.

When I told my brother the news he was completely ecstatic. I felt a moment of bliss with him. Now he won’t have to stumble every time he walks. Hooray!

All this because of the absolute kindness of a few people!

I am so happy to hear that you, little sister, are the one to motivate and show your brother how much you love him. You and your family are turning a "Why Me" moment into "We Can do this TOGETHER"!!!It's making you closer.

Tell Brother, Happy Scooting! VROOM VROOM! LOL~ 0:) Aurelia :0)
