Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Little ways to help

--by Babygirl, posted Sep 29, 2007

I have a co-worker who lives just down the road from me and her car broke down so she's had to depend on the city transportation to get to and from where ever she goes and it has not been easy for her. I guess you could say that her car is her life line to life.

Any way we all have been trying to help her out as she goes through this time and since I ride the bus I've been giving her advice on the stops and the best time to catch the bus.

This morning she had to go in early and of course I'm scheduled to go in later so she was going to be left alone , but I told her last night that I would meet her at the bus stop and make sure that she got to where she needed to go on time, so at 8 o'clock I left my house and walked to the bus stop and good thing I did because she was standing at the wrong stop and would have been very upset, so I hollered at her and walked her to the stop that she needed.

Now even though she is an adult and grown she is kind of slow due to an auto accident she was in a few years back and her short term memory is shot, so her patience level is short also, so we take our time with her and work with her.

She is now on the bus and on her way to work, I guess you could say that while I'm helping her she is also helping me to realize that I'm usefull and I still have something to offer to others, especially those in need.

So to all of you, help a friend, a co-worker, or even a stranger because the gift you get in return is immeasurable. Have a good day to all.
