A Day Full Of Kindness

A Day Full of Kindness Kindness started at PapayaCare in the morning continued throughout the day. I printed some quotes to be written on the white board at the PapayaCare during my absence. I am very happy that one of the PapayaCare residents will write the quotes during my four day absence. Along with printed quotes, I gave whiteboard markers and a rag to clean the white board. I thanked him and Sai Baba for making him ready to write the quotes. PapayaCare caregiver brought my heavy bag and a box to the groundfloor. I thanked him. Mr. V of PapayaCare has become my friend. He called Uber for me and asked another caregiver to put my bag and a box in the taxi. I thanked both of them. I greeted the Uber taxi driver with a smile and good morning,. Saying Hello And Helping Michelle

Sometimes my posts don't post. Technically challenged !
I will connect with a stranger tomorrow or rather I'll approach a colleague or parent only know in passing and will make the effort to really see them and show them me !
I flower-bombed 24 colleagues on sunday. My smile card ended up in the class 3 kindness wall. Planning another 12 this sunday.
Today's action was setting up a spring clothes share rail in The staff room with the opportunity to swop clothes and donate for a gift for one of our assistants who is not very well at present. Want to shower her with love.

Helping Hand

Helping Hand
My son works at the mall he saw the maintenance man was trying to get through the hallway those doors are separate and you have to hold each one open to get through. My son ran over to hold the other door open for the man since he saw him trying to hold both open while going through with a cart and a huge ladder . Maintenance man told my son that's ok I got it but my son still held the other door open for him he saw the ladder was tilting and it would've fallen on his foot if my son wasn't there . This man just got back from taking off after he got hurt at work .I'm glad my son was there to help him out .

A couple days later my son told this maintenance man about his water bucket with the one wheel broken on it oh wow, well I can try to fix it for you. Do you have the wheel still? yes , he handed him the wheel off one water bucket. The next day my son came into work and the maintenance man gave him his brand new water bucket with wheels that work Here you go, "thank you " Kindness all around πŸ™‚

Sweet Ending To Monday

Saw a girl scout selling cookies while I was walking outside on campus and thought that their customer at the time looked (from far away) like a former student of mine...so I ran up with a big smile and greeted her and said "your cookies are my treat!- don't. pay!" The girl scout's mom said she was so happy to see the "smiling lady" coming :-) and then I bought two more boxes to give away to neighbors! It was a sweet ending to the day because then the former student and I also got to chat and catch up--she is now a Master's student in our department!

Also wrote a letter of rec for a current student who is applying for a scholarship--hope she gets it!

And got to give lots of hugs to a friend who is traveling to another country to visit a sick relative.

Putting together a photo surprise from a loved one...it's taking a lot of time, but will be so exciting to see them receive it. Going through old photos also makes me count my blessings and feel so much gratitude for this life journey.

Fruits and Baking

Picked oranges from our tree and shared with our mail carrier and will share more with colleagues and friends. So grateful for nature's bounty!

Visited a neighbor to meet her new puppy!

Baked blueberry muffins for a team of runners (about 20 people) who are training to run a half-marathon to support a good cause. Plan to make breakfast treats for their weekend runs as often as I can as they train over the next few months. Reminded me of when I did two half-marathons many years ago to support leukemia research.

Little Things….

🫢🏽 “ In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.” ~ Khalil Gibran

Two of my neighbor-friends have birthdays this month, one on Valentine’s Day ❀️.
I knew one of them liked a certain wine 🍷 so I surprised with a bottle & a birthday card. On Valentine’s Day I will drop off a little heart shaped box of chocolates with a card to my other friend on the block whom I’ve known for over 40 years.

Cooking Up A Storm

At the soup kitchen on Saturday I asked someone what they needed and they said " a smile?" And of course I BEAMED at them :-) I was also happy to be able to go around offering fresh fruit to people and chocolate milk for little kids. My friend and her husband are out of town on work, so I drove to her house to visit her elderly parents and dropped off homemade hot lunch for them on Sunday. Her sister was staying with them and was very touched. Made food for another elderly friend whose husband just got released from hospital into hospice. Just sat with her and listened to her--it's tough. Sent prayers of encouragement to someone whose parent is going through health issues. Brought over dinner tonight to a neighbor who recently lost her mom. Was able to sneak off campus for a bit today to pick up her favorite bakery ... Read Full Story >>

Challenging Kindness

Challenging Kindness

MS J of PapayaCare asked me to make a birthday card for her nephew. She wanted me to use incorporate some photos of the birthday boy, his sisters, mom and dad. So far, I have used only birthday baby's lone photo to make a birthday cards. It was a challenge for me to include all the family members. With Sai Baba's Prompts I was inspired to use some appropriate quotes with the photos. MS J liked it very much.

I also made bookmarks for the birthday boy and his two sisters. I gave two books to MS J to gift them to birthday boy, I gave quote cards as well. MS J wanted to pay me but I politely denied.

I am grateful to MS J for inspiring me to make a challenging birthday card and delivering books to the birthday boy.

I am grateful to Sri Sathya Sai Baba for all the opportunities sending my way and His help and guidance to manifest them.

Inspired By Mish Sharing

Inspired by Mish sharing about the baby blanket, I decided to share about the otter I made a few weeks ago. I didn't know who it was going to so I sat it on the side. Last week, my daughter contacted me because she felt lost having moved into a new property and hadn't had time to build some of the furniture.

I knew she needed the otter because he's filled with my love and universal love and will help her feel at home.

Little Things

The library has a little free pantry. When I was at the library earlier in the week, I saw that it was empty. I did my grocery shopping today and picked up a few small food items to place there. Noticed that someone else had added some items. Also purchased two boxes of breakfast cereal and cans of tuna fish for our small church food pantry. Met a long-time friend at the supermarket while I was there. Learned that there are some family difficulties. She has been helping her adult child and her older grand-children. She admitted that the situation is stressful. Wrote a note and included a "Mindy Dove" as well as an inspirational card.
