An Answer To Prayers!

Not today, but a while back...Hubby and I are coordinators at our church op shop and I was tasked with removing items from the CWA hall next to church as the building was to be demolished. That was on a Thursday and the building was being demolished the following Monday. I removed as much as I could in the way of crockery and cutlery, pantry cupboards etc. There was about 70 retro chrome dining chairs, 6 wooden dining chairs and a wood table. I took photo's and was planning on putting them on Marketplace, but we only had a short time to remove them and no storage available. Still Here And Still Contributing One Act Of Kindness At A Time :)

Very excited to announce this one: for the past 15 months I have helped beta test the United24 app, released late last week by the government of Ukraine! This app is a ground-breaking innovation, and allows donors from all over the world to contribute directly to several specific drone units that are stationed near the front line. This project was a blast to contribute towards, and it brought together myself and many other like-minded individuals from all over the world. Bought coffee for a stranger today when he came up short. His grateful smile truly made my whole morning brighter. It reminded me that kindness doesn’t have to be grand. it can be as simple as noticing someone’s need and stepping in. You never know how your small act might brighten someone’s day. Love. Volunteering is our retirement job

Hubby and I were approached as our local opportunity shop required coordinators, we made the decision to take on the job as volunteers. We love the work we are doing and after expenses there are donations made to local groups. We support 2 food hubs offering assistance with groceries, a Youth project and a youth drop in centre, and support groups for Carers and Parkinsons. We work with a lovely lot of volunteers who fill the roster working 3 hour shifts. We also have the opportunity to take on people who are expected to work for the dole by been with us for 15 hours a week in order to gain skills which may help them find employment. One of our participants found work within 3 weeks and it was training on the till which helped him to gain the position.

Welcome stay

I welcomed another lovely young lady who will stay for 4 weeks while looking for a job in UK. I made sure to leave a little surprise in the morning, on the breakfast table. She may enjoy reading. I do love this HAPPY newspaper :-)

Helping A Food Pantry

We decided to become a supporter of this food pantry whose funding was removed by our Federal government during the recent across the board cuts that are hurting many worthwhile organizations nationwide here now.

A Page From A Kindspringer's Kindness Book

Been keeping the local plumbing company afloat (no pun intended:))....They were at our house again earlier this week with the "final fix" It has been mostly a hot, humid, miserable summer and our bathroom, where they were working, is tiny. I set a small fan on the countertop to move some air around. They were appreciative. Whey they left, I had taken a page from Mish's kindness book. I had placed two water bottles in the freezer. While I know that they carry their own water, they were more than happy to receive ALMOST FROZEN water bottles. In this heat & humidity, those bottles would "defrost" quickly.

When Love Speaks Without Words

There’s someone in my life who’s like a mother to me. Recently, I noticed she’d been quieter than usual, carrying a weight she didn’t speak of. She never asked for help, but I showed up with a bouquet of flowers, her favorite breakfast meal, a listening ear and no questions she wasn't ready to answer.

She smiled softly and said, “I didn’t know how much I needed this, thank you for cheering me up and being here."

Sometimes, the greatest love is showing up without being asked, just because your heart tells you they need you.

I received a letter from a publication I follow today, asking for help with Gaza through Women for Women International. I sent a small donation and decided to make it a monthly one. It's breaking my heart every time my mind turns to it. This is a small thing, but it is done with love. ♥

A Little Boy Wandering On the street

A little boy was wandering on the street in search of food. He was requesting strangers for some food. But no one was listening to him. He was walking from here to there. Road was busy but no one cared for him. After some time he sat down at the corner of the street. He was looking hopeless and tired. I was watching him from the other side of the street and I found him to be a very cute innocent little boy. I crossed the road and went to him and said hello dear. How are you? He just smiled. I said do you want food? He said yes. I took him to a restaurant and offered him food, sweets and ice cream. He looked so happy and ate all the food with full passion.

After eating, he was smiling and singing …

Kindness Journey! Sent Inspiring email

Kindness Journey  I sent inspiring email to about 200 of my contacts. At the airport and in the plane, I prayed to God for well being of some people in the wheelchair and  prayed Samastha Loka Sukhino Bhavantu  May all the beings in all the worlds be happy during the day.  I packed up my kindness tools to start my kindness journey. I am grateful to my brother-in-law for getting me an uber taxi to get me to the airport. I gave Birthday card and some quote cards to the driver. On her approval I told her intense positive thinking story about a lady whose unwavering positive thinking saved her husband's life. I told Fatema's story about how one quote card changed her life for the better. I talked about KindSpring and told some cracked some jokes. There are 2 glasses of tea for me. I told grand Mother that we both drink cup of tea each. But grand Mother said you drink one now and one later. Finally, I said let us drink one cup each. A Privilege To Listen

I was on my way to meet a friend as I was a little early, I popped into one of the charity shops. There was a woman with 3 children. She told the girls not to touch anything as they were both eating lollies. They left the shop before me and were waiting outside. I smiled at her and told how well she was doing. I also said raising children is hard. I listened to her for a couple of minutes. She thanked me for stopping and listening.

The Whisper That Was Never Lost

Been mentoring a young adult lately who had found himself in a dark place and couldn't see the way forward. We took our time and unpicked all the problems resolving them into manageable pieces. He really touched my heart, especially when it all seemed so insurmountable. Just yesterday however, he wrote: Hey, how are you? I just wanted to say, Man, you changed my life! For the past month, I was in a really bad mental space, freaking out over everything and feeling completely useless. But after talking to you a few days ago, something shifted. At The Bus Stop

I was waiting for a bus at the stop and I noticed one of the drivers got off and was walking around while waiting for its time to depart. The man looked tired and maybe a little sad, I imagine in his mid 60s. He looked at me and smiled gently so I smiled back. He stopped straight away and started talking. He told me all about his job and how difficult it is for him at his age. I listened and offered gentle encouragement. When the time was up he said he was very grateful for our conversation and we wished each other a good day. I hope I helped him feel better and have a better rest of the day. He definitely helped me. I felt grateful for my job, for his kind smile and for the opportunity to 'be there for him' for a brief moment.

A Kind Local Gardener

A few weeks ago the local gardener came to help me with the hedge as it is so difficult for me to do on my own. He's a lovely man and I always enjoy talking to him. We talked about the flowers we liked and I mentioned that I would like to get lupines some days because they look gorgeous at the garden centre. Today he was due to do the lawn, which only takes 45 mins so I didn't get to see him. When I got to my garden he'd left. I checked my phone to call and thank him and he'd left me a message saying that he'd left some lupine seeds for me in the post. How sweet and kind is that?!

Tai Chi With Neighbours

I'm trying to organise a Tai Chi lesson for neighbours in my garden. I thought it'd be a lovely way to get to know people and offer space for community while doing something good for our physical and mental wellbeing. I tried it myself a few years ago, pre pandemic, and really enjoyed the gentle movement and flow...I've got 6 people interested so far so I'm really happy. Now hoping the teacher will give us a good price to make it possible. Needless to say I told everyone they could stay for a cup of tea afterwards :-)

Spending Time With A Friend

I invited one of my Japanese guests to stay a weekend in the country as there was a special event. She was such good company, so appreciative and kind. Everything was a surprise, she was in awe of everything, constantly saying 'wow' :-)))
Met neighbours, friends, market stall people, she'd try to talk to everyone practising her English. We had meals together in the garden, did a little shopping, walked, had the traditional English tea (which she loved, ate all of her bits and some of mine!) Unforgettable memories for both of us!

One Of My Japanese Guest

One of my Japanese guests kindly helped me plant a few flowers that I'd bought a few days ago. He heard me talk about it and said he loves gardening so I suggested he'd do it. I'm not very strong at the moment, though getting there :-) and I was worried they might die. He seemed truly happy to plant them and see them there. I was very grateful. It does get frustrating sometimes, after such a long time in and out of hospital, painful procedures, operations, etc. So many challenges people go through at times...but no matter how strong we are there's days, as you all know, when it's the kindness of others that gets you through.
I'll get you a photo later. In the meantime, wanted to be here with you all and send you a kind and loving hug
