Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Kind Interaction With Security Guard

Went to a store and saw that the security guard looked kind. Usually I don't greet a person while I'm out and about but thought that he's kind and wanted to connect with him. I said hi to him and his face lit up. He said hi back and I felt good to have this interaction with him.

Kind Pie

I hired a lovely local man to do some electrical work in the house, what a delight! He was so pleasant, respectful, helpful, extremely hard working! He offered to do a couple of things that had not been quoted for, so when he mentioned that he was going to cook dinner for him and his wife who was not well (it was already 7pm!) I decided to give him the delicious meat pie that we had for our dinner that day. I put it in a bag, added a few kind cards and a thank you note, and put it in one of his work bags. Today I got a message from his wife thanking us for it and saying it was a very tasty pie :-)

Save Foods, Save Earth

Save Foods, Save Earth !

On Earth day, we started a campaign "don't waste food". For our campaign we visited vegetable markets, grocery stores, parks and other public places to appeal to people to save foods, earth for our upcoming generations. It was a very great experience for us. So many people appreciated our campaign and promised to save food.

We also started to make community compost from food waste. Neighbors, friends and also strangers can put their food waste in community compost. Open to all.

Dear friends, you are all kindly invited.

Thanks..

Lemon bar

One of the people I gave a scratcher to at school earlier this week, happens to be a pastry chef. Today she made lemon bars (soooo good) for the staff, left a poem, a stack of Kindness cards and asked people to enjoy and spread kindness.
I had to take a bite of mine before I took this pic.

β˜€οΈ Weathergrams 🌧️

After our 2 ½ month winter Texan vacation, it was a great return to Crafternoon (kindness crafting crew) at our local library.

Loved connecting with our fantastic librarians, catching up on the news and future programs.

Made “WEATHERGRAMS,” which are designed to weather into nature - in honor of Earth Day.

Left a basket of them at the circulation desk for patrons to take and hang outside in a tree 🌲.

πŸ™ Bless The Healers

“I wish I could give you more, “ I told Matthew, as I handed him a Peace Dove along with our thanks.

MisterM and I had spent 4-5 hours in the ER, trying to figure out a critical health challenge, and Matthew - the nurse, saw to the medical tests needed, medicines, file updates and comfort.

Recently graduated from nursing school, Matthew was professional, yet caring.  He helped put us at ease with his calm attitude.

Grateful for the entire ER staff.

Bless them all in their chosen professions. May each patient they care for be granted the wisdom of their education, life experience and healing.

Continued prayers for MisterM appreciated, my kind friends.

Small Knitting Projects For The Local Hospice

When I finished my reflexolgy/aromatherpay appointment on Thursday and was about to sign out, the staff asked me if I would like to join them for a Coronation party. It's going to be a couple of days before the coronation (May 4th) and they're aiming to have a craft stall. I offered to make some items for them to sell. So far, I have a small pouch and a scarf ready for them. I've almost finished a kitten and will post a picture when it's done and I'm also making another scarf. I hope to make a variety of smaller projects this week to give them.

Had A Brief Conversation

Had a brief conversation with a homeless fellow I hadn’t seen before who was walking the neighborhood. He was very thin and gentle. My dog really liked him and he enjoyed petting her. I think Hazel was helped by homeless people before she was rescued from the streets. She often wants to go to them.
I saw this quote an image yesterday and it resonated.

Filled Some Buckets

Filled some buckets today at work with a one-dollar ticket that could be worth $1K, along with a kindness card and a lucky penny. Recipients: teachers, aides, retired intervention teachers, playground helpers, ELPAC workers and tech instructors.
Don't know if there were any winners, but there definitely were a lot of smiles.

Extras From A Company As A Donation.

I think I mentioned about a company who sell ethical products which don't cost the earth. They asked me to complete a survey and I mentioned that I would like to buy products for the Food Bank. The director contacted me and asked how much I was thinking of spending and I gave her a figure. She said she would add something to the order for the Food Bank as their donation.

Yesterday, I placed an order and today, she asked if it was for the Food Bank and I said it was. She emailed me and said she would put some extras in. I know all these things will be gladly received.

Elevator pitch

Had to share this with ya:
Last weekend I was in this hotel elevator.

A mother and her two little daughters walk in...

I said “HELLO, good morning!”
Got a shy 'nod' and they looked away

(I do look a bit intimidating
first thing in the morning LOL)

One of the girls starts singing quietly

I said “you have a beautiful voice!..."
"...who needs 'elevator music' right?”

She smiled with a GLOW and started giggling

Then I said:
“you should be in a choir or something”

Then her Mum jumps in and says:
“Ha ha… she actually is!”

When they got off on their floor
All three of them smiled
and waved good-bye

I’m super glad I opened my mouth
(Said what was in my mind & heart)

Made EVERYONE's day brighter!

I'm so proud of my granddaughter. She turns ten this week and I just learned yesterday from my daughter that she and three of her classmates are raising money for a non-prof by participating in a kid triathlon. Here's the blurb. 🍫a Chocolate Kind Of Day β˜•οΈ

“Your total is $48.95. You want to add something to make it $50?” asked Amber, the grocery cashier.

If a customer’s total is $50 or more, you get .10 cents off each gallon of fuel at their affiliated gas station.

“Sure,” I replied. “Go ahead and pick out a candy bar for yourself.”

Amber chose a king-sized Hershey’s chocolate bar with almonds. Then she gifted me with her excellent laugh and appreciation. 😊

β˜•οΈ Since it was spitting a little snow (ah, spring in the Hills!) I bought an extra box of hot cocoa mix and left it in the goodie basket for my sister's apartment building residents.

🍫 And guess what the mail delivered? A Belize crafted chocolate bar, plus a beautiful wire angel, from a dear KS friend.  Love that chocolate karma!

Thinking spring with some chocolate kindness!

Keeping An Eye Out

My elder neighbor ended up going to the hospital via the paramedics. I called her best friend, who already knew and informed neighbors who care. Was asked to check to see if the door was locked, so I did and turned off the porch light and shut the blinds.
don’t know when she will be home but she is doing ok at the hospital.

Self-check out

I know it's simple but still nice. I was about to use self-check at the grocery store, all the other check-outs were full. I looked behind me to see a couple with only a few items. I told them to go ahead and take my place. It's not much but I received some awesome smiles and thank you's from them! Win-win!

Earth Kindness on Easter

Earth Kindness #17
What a lovely Easter Sunday we had last week. Our conservation group invited 20 families to come out to the local public park to plant 15 alders and 5 rowan trees along the riverside. The trees were planted by the children and dedicated to families and individuals from the village, completing the first of 2 planting sessions which will take place this year as part of our Biodiversity Village initiative.
It was a lovely sunny morning and the children were really happy to be taking part, something that will live on with them for years. The Easter Bunny visited too with chocolate eggs, which broadened the smiles!

Sweet Kindness

There are certain days of the year that I buy candy - December 26th, November 1st, February 15th, and the day after Easter. This is when candy can generally be purchased at half-price. I bought (these) this year.
Today I brought them to school and tossed them to teachers, admin, aids, and facility workers as I walked by. The smiles they elicited were wonderful, and my students got to see how even a small gesture could positively impact the day of someone else.
With a three-dollar bag, I got smiles, "thank you"s, surprised looks, a "just what I needed at the right time, and even a couple of "I love you's".
Kindness doesn't have to be fancy. Small acts can have a big impact.

Easter Surprise

Last week I got to work earlier than all coworkers and left each of them a Lindt chocolate bar surprise on theirdesks. I left one on my desk too, so I could stay anonymous.

My boss may be onto me, as she asked if I knew about the Easter elf. I told her I know no Easter elf, only Easter bunnies! The same morning I left those chocolates, a freezing rain storm cutthe power off, for many still out.

Think my coworkers will appreciate the surprise even more, once they get back to the office.
