While Waiting For My appointment
While waiting for my medical appt yesterday, I gave a small cheerful girl a peace dove from my Mindy stash in my backpack. When I was in the interior waiting area, a woman asked if I was the one who gave an origami (we were all in gowns so everyone looked alike.) I said yes, and she told me her grandson does origami. She also took a dove. I gave one to the technician as well. It was a fruitful kindness experience.

Put Insects Outside
There was a very scary (but harmless) multi-legged insect in my sink this morning. I could see that he/she was trapped and couldn't get out. I offered a paper towel to climb on. He/she accepted and I placed them outside in my blueberry bush. It's a beautiful thing to recognize that a small life doesn't mean it's not an important life. You do not have to kill insects and that's something we need to share. :)

Being Honest About Accident
OH! Another thing that happened at my appointment: I tapped a bumper of a big truck as I parked (nerves) but didn’t have paper to leave a note. My car is orange and I saw a bit of orange on the bumper. I got some paper at the desk and when I went back. The driver was there so I spoke to him. He got out and looked at his bumper and said it was rust, not my paint. He mentioned how nice it was that I made the effort to let him know. (here’s an orange on a tree from a trip to Arizona last December)

Knitting And Bonding
Yesterday, I was at the knitting group in the communal lounge. One of the other members asked me about the pattern for the little comforter for premature babies. As a result we began talking to each other and discovered we have a lot in common as she was born in a town close to where I was born. Rachel who organises the activities has the same birthday as me, so I'm busy knitting a bag for her and when it's finished I'll post a picture here. This is the next comforter I've knitted and another one is on the way.

Giving Ride
A small help to an old man!
Yesterday, I saw an old man standing at the corner of the street under the sunny weather looking tired and helpless. I asked him what happened, he said need to go to their home but he couldn't walk more on foot. And there is no public vehicle. I said don't worry, I will drop you to your home. And he sat on bike and I dropped him to his home safely. He was looking very happy and gave me so many blessings and thanks. I had to ride my bike 10 mile extra to drop him off. But I enjoyed his company and felt happy.
Thanks to him..

A Divine Gift !
A divine gift !
The baby Pigeon started playing in the courtyard of my house. She was born in my house just 20 days ago. She grew up here, playing here, and now living here. She is free to move anywhere in the house,to drink water, to eat food and to sing songs.
Thanks to nature for sharing a divine connection with me.

Comfort In Knit Cat
A couple of weeks ago, a friend bought me 'Your Crochet and Knitting' magazine and there was a knitting pattern for Gerri the Ginger Cat and I began knitting it. I finished it yesterday and asked my sister if she would like the soft toy. Her beloved cat of 17 years died a few months ago and she still misses him. She would love Gerri so I'm going to send her to her. She has her own backpack too. See the picture of front and back.

Offering Extra Change
Today, again, I offered extra change at the store to share forward with someone else who maybe could use the added peace in their life. I often try to do this with pennies, and recently, I started doing it with nickels, too. Earlier this week, I recall offering all my change that I was given.
Where I live, I observe people in varied states of health condition and consequential abilities that affect day to day functionality. This locally-owned store is near a bus station and has many varied customers and I've received confirmation from cashiers that it's helpful for people with needing bags that cost 5 cents because they do not have a reusable bag of their own, for instance.

Babies gifted with blankets
πΆπ» Babies, Babies & More Babies!
As our contractor was leaving, after finishing up a big repair job that took 3 days, I learned he became a grandfather three times since the last time he did work for us last year. He now has 3 grandchildren all under 6 months of age (one is a new born).
π§Ά So guess who got excited & offered to crochet baby blankets for them all, lol.
So that makes 5 baby blankets on my to-do list (2 other babies of other friends are due in October & November). One blanket is almost finished ππ» I told him I’d call him when the blankets are ready π
Off to order more yarn π§Ά!!
What a blessing this is for me….I love to crochet. It is a blissful calm π

Caring For Birds in Flight
I may have been singled out as KindSpring Community Member of the Week, everyone on this site deserves a mention as well. Everyone does something to make life easier for another person: A smile, a hug, a cheerful greeting.
Recently, I was able to secure some needed household items for a consortium of churches that aids the migrant community. Needs have changed over several years and while I cannot assist in some ways, I have been able search out some bargains for needed items and donate monetarily. This weekend the postal service has a "fill the bag" food drive. I purchased a number of non-perishable items and will place the bag on my front porch for postal pick-up. Distribution stays in our community. I live in an urban, but high intensity bird migration area. Big flyover tonight. I do my best to turn off outdoor lights, close window coverings and encourage my neighbors to do the same to protect birds in flight from hitting glass windows. We all do what we can in whatever way that we can. We are all Community Members of the Week.......every week.

Baked A Loaf For My Neighbors :)
I met some neighbors several weeks ago and learned they're from Ukraine! When we met I practiced what little of the language I know (now studying with Duolingo and enjoying that growth) and applauded them on their English. They've been here in the States for about 18 months, their hometown having now been completely destroyed by the ruzzians.
Today I baked an extra loaf of sourdough and walked it over to them. My toddler was with me and, coincidentally, wanted to carry around his ΠΠ΅ΡΠΎΠΉ Car (hero car, sent to him from my friend in Ukraine). My neighbors were delighted and excited about the bread, and my son was excited to show them his truck.

Bought This Beautiful Book
Bought this beautiful book to have at home, enjoy and share. I left it by the breakfast bar and already one of my guests told me he enjoyed reading a poem on the day of his birthday. Such a lovely way to start the day! I shall find some to share with you all as well

Donation
I was able to do a simple kindness yesterday. I was out in Ilkley and it was very windy, and I headed towards one of the churches. They have several restrooms which are open to the public for a small donation. I used them when I arrived and then went into the church because it is quiet. After I'd eaten my lunch, I used the restrooms again. I didn't have many coins so I put the £5 note so it would help others to use it who couldn't afford to make a donation.

Sunshine
One of my guests at the moment is 77 years old and I see that sometimes he spends a long time sitting in the living room not doing much at all. As the weather is getting better here I took out some chairs from the shed and left them near the back door. I told him he could use them whenever he wanted to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. I protected them with an easy to pull cover. Today he's happily sitting in the sun, near the back trees, listening to the birds and relaxing. I think he even had a nap there :-)
He looks very happy indeed!

Donation While Enjoying A Football Match
I recently went to watch the local club's football match. While getting myself something to eat I spotted the food bank stand. I went up to them and asked about their activities in the area and how they distribute the food to the needy. I was moved to donate a small amount to support their work to feed the needy.

Knitting Tradition
Knitting a baby jacket and bootees for a family member who is pregnant and lives in another state. Only met them this month at mother in law's 90th birthday. Mother in law usually knits something for her grandchildren to send them before their birth, but she is suffering from arthritis and cannot really accomplish making items, so I have made them and will drop them over to her over the weekend and she can post them on.. A bit of a joint effort that keeps her tradition alive.

Honesty At The Vegetable Shop
Kindness at the Vegetable Shop
I bought some vegetables today. When I gave 500 Rupee note the shopper gave me 300 Rupees back. Usually I pocket the money and walk out. My intuition helped me be on the right path of honesty. I asked the shopper, how much was the total? He told me but due to hearing problem I was not able to hear. Lady standing next to me told me it is 290 Rupees. That I just guessed from lip reading that it is over 200 Rupees. So, I showed shopper that he gave me more back. He realized his mistake and took 100 Rupees back and gave me 10 Rupees back.
I gave quote cards to the lady.
I thank Sai Baba for helping me to be honest.

Synchronicity At Work
Hubby and I manage an op shop (thrift shop). It is a small shop and we only sell clothing, homewares and some electrical items. Recently I received a phone call from an organisation asking if we could help a lady and her two children who were moving into our area and only had 1 bed and a bookcase. I explained that we do not stock furniture but that we would be able to help with linen and household goods. Later I was getting ready to go to a community connections meeting where local groups and churches get together to discuss needs within our local community. Just as I was about to leave, I decided to check my emails before I left and as the manager of the shop, I had an email about a deceased estate and the houseful of furniture and household goods were offered to my shop to dispose ... Breakfast To Security Guards
This morning my wife packed a breakfast for our community security guards. I walked to the gate with the breakfast, greeted the security guard, and requested him to enjoy the breakfast. I do this ritual a couple of times every week and I enjoy it. It is a way of thanking the security guard for their services. I also try to spend time chatting with them and have some laughter on the cricket games they like watching.

Give Away Summer Clothing
Husband and I manage an op shop (thrift store) apparently we are the only shop in our area accepting donations which has led to us been overstocked. Rather than pack away our summer clothing as we get ready to put out the winter stock, (we are in Australia), we have given away two large containers of summer clothing to our local Fijian community that work in our nursing homes on contracts. These Fijians send clothing and other items home to their villages, family and friends. The transport costs are high and we usually give them a reasonable discount on what they buy. It was lovely spending time today with one member of their group who sorted through clothing on our racks for the kind of materials which are best for clothing in their climate.
