Gave to NaNoWriMo (small amount).
Listened deeply and with all my heart to a family member and a friend, both going through difficult times. I've learned it helps to ask first, "Are we problem-solving or do you just need to vent?" I tend to want to jump in and fix things, and that may be the last thing they need.
Volunteered to be a reader for Recording Recreational Reading for the Blind.

I took photos including the batch numbers and emailed them. They thanked me for highlighting the issue and promised to contact me when they had completed the investigation.
Last week a package arrived with £6 of vouchers towards more of their products. They were split into four vouchers - 2 times £1 and 2 times £2. I don't often buy their other products but I noticed that a carton of almond milk or a carton of coconut milk were available and they cost two pounds.
I bought one of each and used the £2 vouchers to pay for them. I transferred them to the foodbank trolley.

Greeting Each Mile
Grateful that today’s drive of 600 plus miles went well. Rain off and on, light traffic and so much beautiful fall color! Tomorrow - about 500 miles…. Lots of kindness opportunities: 🐶 Gave St. Francis prayer card to dog owner (today was St. Francis’ feast day - patron of animals), by the Dignity statue at rest area on the Missouri River, inChamberlain,SD. 😊 Left a “trail” of Rajni quote cards and some made-as-we-journeyed positive travel themed post-its to share at various comfort stations. 🇺🇦 🕊 On a whim, stopped to view the Jolly Green Giant statue in Blue Earth, MN, which has gotten quite the upgrade over the years, and met a Ukrainian family being fostered by the kind woman who offered to take our photo with the Giant. The Positive Effects Of Energy, An Embrace, And Silence
Recently a woman came in for treatment. She mentioned feeling more stressed lately because of being the parent of a teenager. After treating her I asked her if she would like for me to do some energy work on her, which she excitedly agreed to. I myself am not yet a parent, but as an empath I can feel her stress and frustration. During the energy work we did not speak. The silence was incredible as it allowed her to relax, and allowed me to focus on helping her become more grounded in that moment. She was teary-eyed when I finished the energy work and we embraced in a hug after I fetched her some tissues. She left feeling better and more relaxed than when she first arrived. In honor of Gandhi
We organized the Gandhi Peace Journey to honor Mahatma Gandhi on his 153rd birthday. We started it with the Gandhi's Bhajan ( Vaishnav Jan tene kahiye, peer parayi Jane na ) and finished it with a moment of silence.
During the journey, we visited Gandhi's monument, had discussion about Gandhi's thoughts and philosophy, and met with many different people.

Gas money for a hamster
Many years ago, my partner used to transport puppies from a little New Mexico animal shelter we worked at, to bigger shelters in Denver and Boulder Colorado. This weekend, there was a need for gas $$ for the Little Critter Crew to help get two hamsters to their new home in southern Oregon. Guess who understood and stepped up? My partner!

Gifting what we don`t need
An elderly neighbor threw out one of those huge old TVs since it no longer worked. I offered him a big flat screen TV which I rarely used. He was very happy and thankful.
As I have gotten older, I realize how materialistic things are not important and at times we accumulate so much that we don`t need. We can't take these things with us when we go.

A Learning Curve
A Learning Curve As I have shared in past posts my husband has a condition called MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and has been dealing with his condition for more than 20 years. Although he has not been diagnosed with dysphagia he has been experiencing symptoms for quite some time now, trouble swallowing, choking and difficulties with his speech. Quote from the National MS Society website: “Dysphagia, or difficulty in swallowing, can occur in people with MS. While more frequent in advanced disease, it can occur at any time.” This means my husband must concentrate on what he is doing when he is eating, as his body will not always automatically swallow for him. As his MS progresses, he must now concentrate on what he is doing to complete a task properly. This a learning curve for both of us. What I Can Do From My Safe Little Home
Being thousands of miles away from friends whose homes were in the path of Hurricane Ian, I find myself constantly thinking of ways to help, despite being so far.
I find that, despite being so far away, I can at least always check up on them and pray for their safety. I`ve called everyone up and, so far, everyone is fine and bearing up well.
There`s an old saying "where there`s a will, there`s a way." Despite being so far away from everyone, I believe that, if you truly want to help, you`ll always find a way how, even if it`s just a phone call.

🌧 💨 Rainy Saturday….
🌴 Checked in with everyone we know in Florida to see how they are doing after the hurricane.
🧶 Finished the baby blanket for the next baby boy being born in our friends family.
❤️ Friends’ 97 year old Mother was alert & animated yesterday…at first she didn’t remember who I was, but then she did…she shared her stories for almost 2 hours with me as I crocheted and kept her company until our friends got back from shopping. She lit up & laughed a few times while we were together & as I was leaving she told me “you made my day”. Well hearing that made my day too 🙏

Kids Who Are Appreciative Makes One Do More For Them
While shopping at Costco over the weekend I bought a clearance swimming pool for the neighbor's 5-year-old son to enjoy next summer. He will be happy and excited as that's the kind of young boy he is. Over the summer he got chickens and a rooster and loves birds so got real peacock feathers and left them for him as a surprise. I love kids' curiosity and their desire to learn. They are Brazilian and very passtionate and I love that.

Let’s Come With Us ...
Let’s come with us and sing the songs of peace and love on the occasion of Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
Dear friends, we are going to organize a Gandhi Peace Journey in search of Gandhian ethics and principles in today’s world. It will be a week journey that will start on 2nd October 2022 from Gandhi Cemetery Park, Kanpur to Gandhi Bhavan, Lucknow .
During the journey we will visit Gandhi’s places and meet with Gandhian people, organize small talk and sing the songs of peace, non violence and love. We will also try to find Gandhi’s values and principles in different communities and societies.
So, there is a kind invitation to all of you to join this kind initiative and help us in establishing Gandhi’s principles in today’s world.

Good Will And Friendship
Took some "stuff" to Good Will this morning. I had planned on taking it to the local charity shop, but I decided that most of what I had would probably sell better at GW.
Picked some hydrangeas to take to our new foreign language teacher at our first class of the semester tonight. She has only been in the country for a few weeks. I thought this might make her living space feel more home-like.
Called an elderly friend to share some good news. I left a message on her voice mail. It pleases me to know that she is still able to be out and about!

Creating Opportunities
My Favorite Day Of Kindness September 26, I visited Utthan with collages made with help from others. I helped Utthan trainee decorate gift envelopes. We made about 100 gift envelopes. I will visit again to make more of them. Before lockdown in India, I used to visit Utthan very often and help them according to their needs. This gives me tremendous joy, making my stay in India worthwhile. Utthan trains mentally challenged people to make different kinds of files, paper shopping bags, gift envelopes, household items, sewing items such as aprons, embroidered handkerchiefs, and bedsheets with pillows, to name just a few. Utthan staff and trainees are working very hard to prepare items for Diwali sale. Every year, it is held a couple of weeks before Diwali. Our Neighbor at home drinks juice made of neem leaves. He is struggling to get neem leaves. In the neighborhood of our shop there is neem tree. We took neem leaves enough for around 4 days and we are in the process of giving these leaves to Neighbor when we reach home. A customer came for rice bag. We took 100 INR less and gave better rice bag. We asked him to give 100 INR later. He don't have extra money. He said he will give money of 100 INR later. A person asked for helmet he forgot. Rainy Sunday
I bought a bag of samosas from a lady at the farmer's market to give to a woman who is in need of food (and has 3 kids)--she was standing on the corner with a sign and I always talk to her and know that she likes potatoes :-) Afterwards at the grocery store asked the dad/son who were asking for money if I I could get them some food from the store--they said they would like a gift card, so I got them a gift card to the grocery store and some flowers for them to give the mom who wasn't there. Got some kids' books to give my neighbor who is going away this week to visit her grandsons....I love finding books for children. I belong to a service organization and the state meeting was today. Many opportunities for kind acts:
Proposed a way to help get new members,
Gave out bookmarks
Paid money to the foundation that helps cover costs of the board to travel to other state conferences
Paid for membership for a college student to become a member.
Chatted with many friends I hadn't seen in 2 or more years.
Gave and received well wishes
Thanked 2 people for the handcrafted cards they sent me every week during my stay in the nursing home

A neighbor said he'd cut down my tree that fell in a storm. It was very kind and I think it's valuable when someone offers without being asked for help.

Inspiring Young Man Making A Random Difference
On Sunday I went to Costco and an employee was playing music on a piano and singing and it was so refreshing. It was bringing smiles to people and it was ins
After shopping, I asked for management and saw the young gentleman and I said they needed him to be playing up front that it changes the mood for the better of customers. The young man was humble and kind and thanked me for my words of appreciation.
He's leaving soon to move to another store but having heard him this time was good as he spreads cheer. One person can make a difference. I tried to upload the video to share but it would not accept it.
